The clinical symptoms of autism are intrinsic symptoms and acquired symptoms.
1. The intrinsic symptoms of the autism: no active thinking, be timid and terrified.
No active thinking, the patients ignore all the people, and they are indifferent in expression, turn a blind eye and a deaf ear, with the narrow interests, stark and weird behavior, unsociable communication, and the surface wisdom.
In short, they live in their own world. They cannot understand the relationship between them and others, so they have no relative affection and no response to all around; it is difficult for them to experience the emotion and feelings of others. No matter what you say or do, they just disregard it.
About 50% autistic children do not a communicative language; even if they have one, they often speak like a parrot (the echoing language), and show some conditions such as the pronoun reversal, lacking changes in tones, giving an irrelevant answer, speaking to themselves or making people have no idea about what they say. In other words, even if they can call “mother”, the speaking is only a simple imitation, and they do not know what does this word mean and will forget it after a while.
They may repeatedly some actions, such as clapping hands, watching hands, swinging, whirling and others; they will walk on the determined routes when they go out; their entertainment is monotonous, repeated, lacking of changes, and they resist any changes. Their attention is hard to be concentrated, but once a little change appears in the daily life, they will strongly resist it until it is recovered to the original pattern and order.
Be timid and terrified:
They always look around, and have no eye contact with people, so it is difficult for them to communicate with their eyes; they are timid in life, like fearing of climbing and other timid performance.
2. The acquired symptoms of autism
Retardation in brain and physical growth, the unmatched comprehensive abilities with their physiological ages, such as language expression, knowledge quantity, self-care ability, social interaction, etc. The older they are the bigger gap between them and the normal people.
Because of the intrinsic problems in autism, the sick children cannot learn the related knowledge normally, nor get any relevant experience, which result in the unmatched comprehensive abilities with their physiological ages as well as the gaps with children at their same ages. In addition, this unmatched situation may even growth negatively, for example, a 7-year-old child has a same comprehensive ability with a normal 3-year-old child, but when he is 15 years old, his ability may fall and equal to about a normal 2-year-old child’s.
Furthermore, some of their organs also suffer from the developmental disorders because of the obsolescence. For example, some children may have the mental retardation, but most of them were normal in intelligence at first. Due to the law of use and disuse, many of the normal children suffer from the abnormal development of the brain (the abnormal one at first is even more abnormal).
Their organs are also damaged by partial eclipse and terrible emotions, etc; some unconscious and bad habits are kept in a subconscious state.
According to our experience, from all the situations, the early detection, early intervention and early rehabilitation and education are the most effective ways to control the autism. In such cure, the acquired problems of it can be avoided maximally.
For example, after the intrinsic problems of autism are solved, the sick children at about one year old can stay with the normal children directly without any other physically or mentally special cares nor any teaching or training of their knowledge or behavior. One or two months later, any symptoms of autism cannot be found in their behaviors, that is to say, the sick children have caught up or even surpass the normal children at their same ages.
But even after the intrinsic problems of autism are solved, the elder children also have to face with other acquired problems such as physical and mental development, and the unmatched comprehensive ability with their physiological ages; and the adolescent children even have to immediately face with the thorny problems caused by the youth rebellion and serious inconsistency between their mental modes and physiological ages. That will lead to a relatively large problem in the later knowledge impartment and psychological intervention. And these sick children have to take a relatively long time to recover, and to catch up with the normal children at the same age. Some of them need one year or two to make it, or even longer.
And the early solution of the intrinsic problems can make the sick children catch up with the normal children at the same age and integrate into the society by using the least cost and the shortest time.
